Dear Colleagues:
We are pleased to announce the upcoming 65th Annual Meeting of the Society for Reproductive Investigation (SRI), March 7 - 10, 2018 in San Diego, CA. The theme of the 2018 meeting, “Power of Collaboration” was chosen to highlight the importance of collaborations and networking on the global stage. As a meeting theme for SRI, our goal is to further promote and highlight collaborations within the society as one of the many valuable aspects of SRI.
With Marilyn J. Cipolla, PhD as Program Director, we have developed an outstanding program that includes Presidential Distinguished Lecturers by Randy Schekman, PhD, Professor of Molecular and Cell Biology, UC Berkeley, 2013 Nobel Prize winner in Physiology or Medicine and Ursula Kaiser, MD, Professor, Harvard Medical School, Chief, Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Hypertension. We will also continue to have a New Investigator plenary session, 24 concurrent oral sessions, and 12 mini-symposia. New this year will be a special lunch-time panel focused on effective collaborations and networking. We will also have two “Lunch and Learn” symposia that will be compelling and informative. Connections Corners, which has been a huge success and grown each year, will include our Distinguished Lecturers, Randy Schekman and Urusla Kaiser.
On Friday, there will be a 65th Anniversary Salute, Presidential Address, and Awards Ceremony to introduce the recipients of the Lifetime Distinguished Service Award, the Frederick Naftolin Award for Mentorship, the SRI Distinguished Scientist Award and the President’s Achievement Award. Beer, wine and appetizers will be provided during the address. That evening, in celebration of our 65th Anniversary, I will host a party with dancing and music from our newly formed SRI Band. This will be a ticketed event, but very reasonable in price. We hope to see you all there!
For Saturday, we will again hold Hot Topics where the top 4 late-breaking abstracts will be presented, along with lunch and the presentation of awards. The Hot Topics presentations are some of the most outstanding at the meeting so you won’t want to miss them.
The 2018 annual meeting will be held in San Diego, CA at the Hilton Bayfront Hotel. True to our nature, the 65th Annual SRI meeting will be highly collegial and provide a forum for outstanding science and the opportunity for fruitful global networking. On behalf of the SRI Council, Program Committee, and Staff, I invite you to attend the exciting meeting we have planned, and connect with our colleagues and friends in SRI!
Yours,
Sandra T. Davidge, PhD
SRI President, 2017-2018
