Standing in Solidarity

Standing in Solidarity with Our Colleagues at the NIH and CDC

Society for Reproductive Investigation (SRI) expresses its deep concern and unwavering support for our esteemed colleagues at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) who have recently been placed on administrative leave or dismissed from their roles.

These public health and scientific professionals have dedicated their careers to advancing evidence-based medicine, promoting reproductive health, and protecting the well-being of millions. Their work is grounded in rigorous scientific inquiry, ethical integrity, and a commitment to public service — values that form the foundation of our own mission at SRI.

Sidelining experts not only undermines scientific progress, but also threatens the reproductive autonomy, health, and rights of individuals across the country. It is a disservice to the public, and to the generations of professionals who have built and sustained our institutions of science and public health.

We call on policymakers and leadership at all levels to defend the independence of scientific agencies and to restore trust in those whose work saves lives and improves health outcomes every day. At a time when evidence-based decision-making is more critical than ever, we must protect the people who make that possible.

To our colleagues at NIH and CDC: You are not alone. The scientific and reproductive health communities stand with you.
