SRI Announces a New Vice President for Diversity and Structural Change
Following recommendations of the SRI Task Force on governance, the Council approved recommendations to create a Vice President for Diversity and Structural Change.
After receiving and reviewing stellar applications, I am delighted to announce that Dr. Genevieve Neal-Perry, MD, PhD, University of North Carolina School of Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynecology Department Chair and Endowed Professor, will serve as SRI’s first Vice President for Diversity and Structural Change!
Dr. Neal-Perry brings a breadth of experience as a clinician scientist, NIH grant reviewer, associate journal editor, Associate Dean for Diversity and Mentoring, department chair, and community leader. Her primary goal will be to help create a robust and sustainable strategy that promotes a diversity and inclusion blueprint that will engage our members, represent SRI our partner organizations, resonate with prospective members and provide advice to SRI leadership and Council to elevate our organization.
We look forward to working with Dr. Neal-Perry during her three years on the Executive Committee and Council. Please join me in welcoming her!
Sincerely,
Jim Segars, MD
President, SRI
