National Academy of Medicine Elects Two SRI Members: Drs. Erica Marsh and Uma Reddy


The National Academy of Medicine (NAM) recently announced the election of 100 new members during its annual meeting

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to SRI members Erica E. Marsh, MD, MSCI, and Uma M. Reddy, MD, MPH for their election to the National Academy of Medicine as part of the esteemed class of 2024. Being elected to the Academy is one of the highest honors in the fields of health and medicine, recognizing individuals for their exceptional professional achievements and dedication to service.

 

Erica Elizabeth Marsh, MD, MSCI, is the S. Jan Behrman Collegiate Professor of Reproductive Medicine, vice chair, and division chief of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Michigan Medical School in Ann Arbor. Dr. Marsh is recognized for her pioneering research on uterine leiomyomas and her dedicated efforts to address disparities in reproductive health. Her work in building research capacity in women’s health, both in the U.S. and globally, along with her mentorship of the next generation of reproductive health leaders, is poised to create a lasting impact in the field.

 

Uma M. Reddy, MD, MPH, is a professor and vice chair of research in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons, as well as a professor of Population and Family Health at the Mailman School of Public Health, both at Columbia University Irving Medical Center in New York City. Dr. Reddy is recognized for her transformative leadership in pioneering research that has significantly advanced the understanding of stillbirth, neonatal morbidity and mortality, labor management, and their effects on maternal health. Through large multicenter cohorts and clinical trials, her work has set new standards in national obstetric practice, leading to improved outcomes for pregnant individuals and their children.
